Toolkit: PythonPython is a powerful, object-oriented scripting language. It provides extensive support for object-oriented and procedural system and network programming. It includes support for cross-platform graphical user interfaces (GUIs) and for a variety of standard database engines. With Python, I can rapidly create stand-alone, networked, or cross-platform applications, CGI scripts--even entire webservers (though there's generally little need for that). And if necessary, Python allows me to re-code critical portions of an application in C or C++ for improved performance.
